How much does it cost to hire a brand designer?

The cost of a brand designer depends on scope, from a logo alone at the low end to a full identity with guidelines and assets at the high end, with timeline and revisions setting the rest.

What changes the price

Scope

A logo is one piece. A brand identity adds type, colour, guidelines and the assets your team uses, from social templates to stationery, so it takes far more design time.

Where the brand has to work

Every place the brand appears adds design time. YumYum's identity runs from the menu and the takeaway bag to social posts, and SyncGrid's has to scale from an app icon to a stage screen.

Timeline

A full identity takes 2 to 3 weeks with me. A rush means other work has to move, so it costs more. The brand identity timeline guide explains what fits in that time.

Rounds of changes

Each extra round of revisions takes time. A clear brief at the start cuts rounds more than anything else, and the guide to briefing a designer shows what to put in one.

What a full identity should include

A logo system, type, colour, brand guidelines and assets ready for web, decks and social. If a quote leaves out the guidelines, your team will struggle to use the brand without the designer in the room.

How I price brand work

Every brand project gets a fixed proposal the same day as the call, with the scope, the timeline and the price in writing. You can see the kind of system that covers in the SyncGrid brand identity, and what I design on my brand identity page.
